Oftentimes we take custom wheel photoshoots for granted, forgetting about all the hard work and precision you need in order to build something special in this industry. Well, not anymore.
We loved going through these images and we bet, so will you. You can see the entire process of not just building the wheels themselves, but also everything else that goes into it, like the prepping phase.
The guys from Vossen got this splendid Mercedes-AMG GT S, priced at $129,900, and went about ditching its factory AMG wheels for something a little bit more, special.
The car itself came with a great interior (carbon fiber * piano black trim) and a lot of muscle underneath the hood. We’re sure you know all about its bi-turbo V8 engine, good for 503 HP.
In fact, it’s so good, it will get the AMG GT S from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.8 seconds. It’s a proper supercar, though not exactly unbeatable in terms of overall power and torque.
As for the AMG wheels, Vossen replaced them with a set of VPS-306 wheels measuring 20″ in the front and 21″ at the back. The forged wheels are later dipped in those special tanks, ensuring that they’re as clean as possible so that there won’t be any issues with paint/clear coating – it ended up being a Gloss Clear finish.
No question about it, the AMG GT S looks way better rocking those new kicks. They’re actually called ‘Vossen Forged: Precision Series VPS-306’ wheels and if we were to compare them thoroughly with the factory wheels, it wouldn’t even be a close contest.
It took the team less than a week to complete the entire project, and we’re sure they’re extremely proud of the way things worked out. Awesome work!
