Skoda’s FUNstar ute concept is not the only show car based on the Fabia to debut at this month’s Wörthersee Tour. The Czech carmaker is teasing the Fabia R5 Combi, an estate version of the recently-launched Fabia R5 rally car.
Debuting at the 34th GTI Meeting at Wörthersee (May 13-16), the Skoda Fabia R5 Combi will be showcased “alongside three other of the brand’s sports cars.” In total, Skoda will present five sporty models this year.
The Fabia R5 Combi show car features a green, white and black paint scheme and rides on 18-inch alloys.
At the front, it sports an aggressive bumper and a wide air intake, while the contoured grille is finished in black, just as the wing mirror covers. The model’s racy appearance is enhanced by the flared mudguards and doorsills extensions. The rear end is dominated by a huge spoiler mirrored by an equally big rear bumper with a wide exhaust pipe positioned in the center.
Under the bonnet, the Skoda Fabia R5 Combi features the same powertrain from the Fabia R5 rally car: a 1.6-liter turbo engine mated to a sequential five-speed transmission which sends power to all four wheels. McPherson struts are also fitted to the vehicle, which will obviously only remain a show car.
