Believe it or not, last year, the Rapid was Skoda’s 2nd best selling model after the Octavia, while last December saw the Rapid outsell the Fabia by almost twice as many units.
This is clearly a success story, which means buyers have bought into everything Skoda has said about the Rapid – specifically how practical it is.
In the UK, Skoda has introduced OTR price reductions of up to £1,905 across all Rapid Spaceback models. What this means is that all three trim levels (S, SE Tech and SE Sport) now benefit from a significant price reduction.
One example Skoda gave was of the Spaceback 1.4 TSI 125 PS DSG SE Tech, which now costs £16,390 – and that’s where you notice the £1,905 saving when compared to what it previously cost.
Furthermore, Skoda has build up this new pricing structure without making any changes to the equipment levels. These types of things matter to customers that walk into a Skoda showroom ready to make a deal. People love justifying their purchases.
As far as the entry-level 1.2 TSI 90PS Spaceback S is concerned, prices start at £13,500 (£1,300 customer saving), while the £1,905 that you saved up on the previously mentioned high spec SE Tech model is also valid for the SE Sport version, with the same power unit and DSG gearbox.
And with CO2 outputs starting from just 94g/km, Skoda customers will also get to enjoy low running costs – which might end up being the most important thing.
