One of the main talking points of the media bubble created around the new Mad Max movie was the fact that most stunts and scenes were fully acted and not CGI-generated.

Computers are clearly used in the post-processing, but there’s no trickery when it comes to the action: most of it was shot as you see it.

CGI is occasionally used to create movement where there is none, but if it’s well executed we can forgive it given that the rest of it is not like that.

This is evident in the behind the scenes look video posted below. The video is worth watching even in isolation to the movie, just to see what it took to create the climactic moments you see in the finished product.

Director George Miller is present in nearly all the shots, directing away, guiding the actors and crew towards achieving his vision.
