Apparently, Toyota is not rushing in to bring the all-new Hilux pickup truck to Europe, as the Japanese automaker has just announced a new special edition version based on the current Hilux.
You may have already heard of it, as the Hilux Invincible X has been available in the UK since February. Now Toyota is offering the flagship grade in mainland Europe as well.
On sale from July 2015, the Toyota Hilux Invincible X distinguishes itself from lesser models thanks to a new front guard, a chrome finish to the bonnet air vent, front and rear fog lights, as well as dedicated badges on the front doors and tail gate.
The model is also offered with a choice of five alloy wheels, including two new, 17-inch options: a 6-spoke design created by Toyota Racing Development (TRD) and a 6-spoke wheel finished in matt black.
For those who want to make their Hilux Invincible X stand out even more, Toyota offers optional side steps and deck-cover solutions including chrome over-bars with aluminum rolled locking cover or hard tops.
The interior features “Invincible” scuff plates and is offered with three new, bi-tone leather upholsteries (Dark Red, Grey or Tan), all of which feature an “Invincible X” logo embossed on the front headrests. Additionally, the center arm rest, hand brake and gear shift knob are leather upholstered, while the gear lever surround is finished in bright chrome. The Toyota Hotspot system is offered as an option.
The Hilux Invincible X is available in Extra Cab or Double Cab body styles, with a choice of two engines: a 2.5-liter D-4D engine with manual transmission and either 2WD or 4WD, and a 3.0 liter D-4D unit with either manual or automatic transmission and 4WD.
