There are many ways to have fun with a 458 Speciale, but transforming it into a motorized Banshee is the coolest thing to do.
The naturally aspirated 4.5-litre V8 dwelling within the bowls of the Speciale is a beautiful beast. Even tamed by the stock tailpipes and resonators, it still screeches like a monster. Fit it with a custom exhaust and all hell breaks loose.
The 458 in the video has a custom Frequency Intelligent Exhaust system with valvetronic technology. It works almost like a cutout valve, controlled by an ECU – when the valves are opened for maximum flow and power, it creates an outstanding howl. Then beware, lest thou awaken the fire breathing creature, for it will destroy years if thee uses headphones to watch the video.
No, but seriously, the car is mentally loud. And if that wasn’t enough, an Audi R8 comes to its aid and wakes everything in a 10 kilometer radius. Mind you, the untamed V8 sounds like the golden days of Formula 1. At least the constant throttle blipping reminds us of the usual ’80 start grid initiation.
In case you were wondering, the 458 wears R3 Wheels and the R8 boots Messer Wheels.
RIP headphone users.
