VW’s apprentices have finally revealed their project for the 2015 Wörthersee Tour, the Golf GTI Dark Shine.

The highly customized car features both performance and styling upgrades, with the highlights being a 395PS (390hp) engine and a two-tone color scheme. The front of the car is painted in dark Daytona Grey Metallic, while the rear sports a unique R-yellow pearl effect hue – hence the name Dark Shine.

The interior continues the two-tone theme, with the leather upholstery of the Recaro bucket seats and the bench rear seat sporting the same grey tone as the exterior.

The central sections upholstered in titanium black Alcantara, while the side bolsters of the seats and backrests are covered in black carbon leather. Yellow GTI logos on the backrests and yellow stitching provide the contrast, as does the yellow piping. The multi-function steering wheel is covered in titanium black Alcantara, with the 12 o’clock marking, seams and spokes set off in R-yellow, as are the surrounds and needles of the instrument cluster.

Since we’re talking about a show car for Wörthersee, the VW Golf GTI Dark Shine is equipped with an 8-speaker, 3-subwoofer high-end audio system with a total output of 3,500 Watts.

The team of four young women and men created their dream GTI from a body in white production Golf GTI Performance over a period of about nine months. The car features a modified 2.0-liter TSI engine which produces 395PS (390hp) and 487Nm (359lb-ft) of torque at 4,700 rpm.

The intercooler and the control units for the engine and the DSG dual-clutch gearbox have been specially adapted, with other modifications including a stainless steel exhaust system with enlarged tailpipe trims and a carbon air box.
