The Konigsegg Agera One:1 is a rather special brute. It’s not just the first megacar ever produced, it’s also one of the few to sometimes (I’ll explain further down) have a power to weight ratio of 1 HP/KG. Did I mention that it has a theoretical top speed of 450 km/h (280 mph)?
That’s because in some cases, the amount of power this car has is equal to its weight. I specifically said “sometimes” because in order for its enormous 5.0-Litre V8 to develop 1,360-horses, it has to run on E85 – ethanol blended fuel.
So, to be honest, if it runs on normal fuel pump gasoline, it doesn’t qualify as a megacar, nor does it have an 1:1 weight ratio. Don’t worry, that doesn’t mean it’s not blazing fast – it still boasts 1,160bhp with regular fuel. Thank God, the weight doesn’t fluctuate as much.
Anyway, when the engine is working with the right juice, its power output makes the Agera “the most powerful production car ever built”. At least until the new Regera hits the streets.
We showcased you a brilliant unique example a month ago – one of only 6 built and the single one with right-hand-drive. It carried a bespoke blue tinted carbon fiber look to die for.
Now, thanks to Marchettino and its rightful owner, we found it racing at the ‘Vmax 200 Hypermax’ event in the UK. I can’t imagine taming such a beast, even in straight line performance…
