Is it safe to call the Lexus LS an “underrated” luxury car? It’s certainly sounds like it whenever we clamor over BMW‘s 7 Series, Audi’s A8, the Porsche Panamera and of course the Mercedes S-Class.
Take Europe for example where last year, Lexus sold just 239 LS models. Even Bentley and VW sold more Flying Spurs and Phaetons respectively. Hard to believe.
Still, this shouldn’t discourage us from saying a few good things about the LS, like the fact that it’s a very good looking car, with a modern and well-crafted interior. By the way, we love the 12.3″ LCD display as it really catches the eye.
Speaking of which, the F-Sport version does stand out more than the regular LS, but it’s all cosmetic – don’t expect a massive amount of HP under the hood of this LS 460.
What you should expect is a maximum output of 386 HP from the 4.6 liter V8 engine. It will still hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 5.4 seconds, which doesn’t sound like much in the world of AMG, but you’ll be generally satisfied with a ‘5 second’ full size limo.
As for the Vossen CVT wheels, we love the design, it’s just that we would have actually went down a size to 21″. But that’s just us.
Overall, the LS is still a beautiful car, and extremely comfortable regardless if you’re the driver or one of the passengers.
