You may like the look of an AC Cobra and would like a piece of that, but it’s really probably too much car for most people, especially those who just want a nice open top classic.

The mid-1950s AC Ace, with the 2.0-liter Bristol motor, is a proper sports car. The main reason Caroll Shelby chose it as the base for his creation was because it was a great handling package that he felt could take more power.

A lot more power, as in standard trim, the Bristol engine only really puts out about 120 hp. However, it is apparently based on an older BMW design that they bought the rights to, and it really sounds like any glorious straight-six you can think of.

A mint example is featured in the video posted below courtesy of Velocity. If you haven’t seen one of these in action, with the stock engine, you may be surprised as to what kind of experience it is.
