Renault tried to hide as many production design details as possible with the Alpine Celebration concept unveiled at Le Mans, and it did a pretty god job.

However, its efforts may have been rendered useless by this set of patent images that were leaked on the web. The images were reportedly filed in December 2014 with the World Intellectual Property Organization.

The photos reveal that Alpine’s upcoming production sports car will feature some changes compared with the Celebration concept, besides the obvious removal of stickers and racing livery.

The absence of stickers allows us to see the hollowed sides, as well as the LED signature of the headlights and taillights. We can also spot a new hexagon-shaped central exhaust that replaces the concept’s side exhausts. Other changes compared with the concept include the removal of the rear wing, the fitting of a conventional rear window and a less prominent rear diffuser.

While the car looks production ready overall, details like the lateral mirrors and door handles may indicate this is yet another concept vehicle that previews the future road going Alpine sports car. If that is the case, we hope it’s the last study before we finally get to see a new Alpine on the streets.
