Ever thought about how scary it might be to catch a glimpse of a truck as it’s about to challenge you to a head-on collision? Spoiler alert: It’s terrifying…
This accident happened on the Glendora Ridge Road in California and it features the biker (Jesse), and his resilient GoPro that captured the whole ordeal.
So what happened? Well, one obvious explanation is that 60 mph was a tiny bit too fast for that particular bend. Also, Jesse may not have been experienced enough to handle his motorcycle at that particular junction.
And yes, it’s reckless to assume that you won’t be coming across any traffic going the other way on a two-way canyon road.
The moments before the crash should definitely weaken your knees as you’re watching. We can only imagine the thoughts that go through your head when you realize you’re about to make contact with a truck at roughly 60 mph (almost 100 km/h).
A couple of things we’d like to point out are that maybe, he might have had time to ditch the bike and jump off. But that’s a really big maybe since everything happened really fast and until we hear different, this guy is definitely not The Arrow.
Also, couldn’t the truck driver have yanked on his steering wheel and gone off the road instead of honking his horn right before the crash? What good did that do?
In the end, the biggest thing was the fact that Jesse made it out alive thanks in part to lady luck and the emergency response team that arrived on the scene.
Actually, the fact that he “walked away” with just a “broken femur, tibia, fibula, ulna and humerus” is a miracle in and of itself.
Warning: Some viewers may find the footage of the crash disturbing.
