We’ve seen so many videos in which the Tesla P85D emerged victorious from a drag race that we were beginning to lose hope for the internal combustion engine.
Even though there were some supercars that eventually caught up to it and even crossed the 1/4 mile mark ahead of the electric car, we still had a bitter taste seeing the beast launch off the line.
Even though it got beaten, the P85D’s immense 931 NM (687 lb-ft) instant torque figure along with its 691 electric horses shamed titled vehicles for the first couple of meters.
Nevertheless, the electric car got put in its place by that incredibly loud Ferrari 458 Speciale that we showcased not too long ago.
Mind you, the Ferrari is slightly tuned, but its 630 horses are still fewer than the Tesla’s. We’re not going to spoil the video for you, but the Ferrari does run some rings around it. Literally…
