Peugeot has released UK pricing along with details about its updated 208 supermini.
The small styling tweaks include a new front bumper with a wider grille and two-tone headlights with LED daytime running lights. At the rear, the full LED lights have been redesigned and now feature a new pattern which resemble according to the company ‘3D claws’.
A set of new 16 and 17 inch wheel options as well as a refreshed range of 13 different paint finishes, which includes the so-called textured paint, are among the other changes while for the first time Peugeot is offering two interior and two exterior personalization packs, available in Menthol White or Lime Yellow.
All the engines are now Euro 6 compliant, with the 75hp 1.6-litre BlueHDi being the ‘cleanest’ model in its class, achieving 94.2mpg UK and just 79g/km of CO2. The same engine is offered in 100hp and 120hp versions.
Most of the petrol engines are now three-cylinders, starting from the 68hp 1.0-litre, then going up to the 82hp 1.2-litre and the turbocharged 110hp 1.2-litre which returns 103g/km when mated to a five-speed manual.
The GTI is offered only as a three-door in three trims: GTI, GTI Prestige and GTI by Peugeot Sport. The latter carries the same treatment as the limited edition 208 GTI 30th Anniversary, after the universal appraisal of press and audience.
Prices start at £11,695, with the base 208 GTI model starting at £19,145 and the 208 GTI by Peugeot Sport at £21,995.
