This image that popped up online reveals Kia’s Cee’d mid-cycle facelift way earlier than expected.
We already had some knowledge that the Korean car manufacturer was prepping the facelifted Cee’d to debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show this fall, but you’ve got to love the internet and its ability to spoil “surprises”.
While it doesn’t look very different from the current model, the new Cee’d comes with a revised front bumper (we’re thinking a revised rear bumper, as well) garnished with some chrome accents and smaller fog lamps. What more can you want? The car did sell in 1.000.000 units, so why change a recipe for success?
Of course, knowing that the Cee’d will make way for an all-new model in a couple of years, it all starts to make sense. And don’t think the car won’t receive a lightly updated interior, as well.
The example shown in the picture seems to be a top of the line –very well equipped – model, while the new design comes with a sportier look, similar to the the GT line-up. The optional rims, borrowed from the GT spec, the vivid color and the optional sunroof confirm this aspect.
Engine wise, the Cee’d will likely continue with the current line-up of diesels and petrol engines although the GT line will get a 1.0-litre turbocharged three cylinder power-plant.
