Let the Alfa Romeo Giulia Renderings show continue with this latest “episode”, in which we’ll be discussing a convertible model.
Yes, drop that top, call up BMW, Mercedes and Audi and invite them to a not so friendly bar fight.
The designer named this rendering the Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider, which may lead to some confusion since the Spider should generally be a sports car and not a saloon transformed into a coupe that ultimately loses its roof.
Remember the Alfa Brera & the Spider? They were seriously good looking yet based on the 159’s platform. Even so, other than the front end, they didn’t really look anything like the 159 – which is why we’re not head over heels for this rendering.
If Alfa Romeo would build this car (looking just like this), they might actually call it the Giulia Convertible, since Spider should stand for something a bit more exotic looking.
Still, how well this car would do against the likes of BMW’s 4 Series Cabrio or the convertible Audi A5, is hard to tell. The thing is, we really need to wait and see how the Giulia saloon performs, before we can make any sort of assumptions regarding different body styles.
All in all, it’s not a bad effort. As always, we appreciate the talent that went into this drawing, and we certainly wouldn’t mind seeing a convertible Giulia on the streets someday.
Would you?
