Almost all reviews of the Honda Civic Type R we’ve seen so far complained about the fact that it’s not quite suited for every day use.
This new review from Autocar complains of the same thing, essentially. In Matt Prior’s view, the alternatives for the latest Honda hot hatch are the Renault Megane RS Trophy and the VW Golf R.
While the Civic Type R is lightning fast and very competent on the circuit, it is not as easy to live with every day as the Golf R and not as rewarding and fun to drive as the Megane RS Trophy.
However, if going fast is all you want from your front-wheel drive hot hatch, the Civic Type R is the one to get.
