Infiniti has officially confirmed that the all-new Q30 premium compact hatchback will debut 90 days from today at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
The Japanese automaker is currently performing validation and dynamic tuning of its first-ever compact car in the UK and throughout mainland Europe. Infiniti says it is in the final stages of preparing for the launch, following development work that started at the company’s Engineering Centre in Cranfield, UK since 2014.
Infiniti will release more information on the Q30 closer to the Frankfurt show in September. What we know so far is that the Q30 shares the platform with the Mercedes-Benz A-Class, which means it should be offered with a similar range of four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines.
The Infiniti Q30 will be built in Sunderland, UK, where the automaker has invested £250 million ($396 million) so far in plant extensions. Shortly after the production start of the Q30, the plant will begin to build a second model, the QX30 crossover.
