After locking horns with both Dwayne Johnson’s character and Vin Diesel’s character in Furious 7, Jason Statham has just confirmed that he will be returning for ‘Furious 8’.
This is actually great news for a Franchise in need of not just new blood but new and exciting action sequences – since it already feels like they’ve done everything imaginable as far as crazy car stunts.
As you may already know, Statham played Deckard Shaw in the last movie, who was the “bad guy” that Torreto and his team had to defeat.
Even though we can only speculate if Shaw will be returning as the villain or as somebody who through some unforeseen circumstances ends up joining Torreto’s crew, at least we know he’ll be back for certain.
Statham said in a recent interview that “It’s nice to know I’m going to be doing another” when talking about the Fast & Furious franchise, before adding that “There is some great stuff that I already know about” – which he naturally couldn’t divulge.
So far, all we know about Furious 8 is that Kurt Russell’s character (introduced in F7) will also return for at least another movie and that the action will take place mostly in New York City, which might make for a nice change of scenery.
