Even though we wouldn’t blame you for thinking that the Lamborghini Huracan is somehow underwhelming, you have to admit that it’s a seriously fast supercar.
Its direct rivals know this, which is why you’ll generally find the likes of the Ferrari 458 Italia coming in a close 2nd after the Huracan, in any given drag race. In fact, we saw the 458 come so very close to beating the baby Lambo only last month (check it out here). The horse was slower than the bull by just 0.37 seconds.
In case you want to nitpick and mention the different ways in which those cars grip the asphalt when accelerating (RWD vs. AWD), here’s yet another direct rival for the Huracan, the iconic Porsche 911 Turbo S.
The Turbo S is an AWD machine just like the Huracan, and on top of that it’s also insanely quick off the line.
It can hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.1 seconds while the Lambo needs 3.2 seconds – so it’s basically the same thing. Their top speeds do differ, as the Huracan will go all the way up to 325 km/h (202 mph), while the Turbo S will “only” do 318 km/h (197 mph).
Watching this drag race is fascinating because the cars are literally side by side from start to finish. However, if you look close, the 911 does seem to be slightly ahead.
Still, numbers don’t lie.
