Unless your name is Superman, you should never, ever run in front of a racing vehicle.
So, there’s a Baja event where pilots race big chunks of jumping metal, powered by dead dinosaurs and all of a sudden somebody thinks it’s a good idea to cross the road in front of them.
That’s what happened to Robby Gordon at the Baja 500 off-road race, as the racing driver was battling for the lead. Apparently, some spectators got a little too close to the action and when they decided to flee, one of them thought he was faster than a racing car and took the wrong turn.
It can be seen from the video that Gordon slowed down, but still clipped the poor victim’s leg with the Chevy, sending one shoe flying out of orbit. As Fox News states, there is no official reports of any injuries from the event, but unofficial reports indicate that the spectator suffered a broken leg.
We know motor racing is exciting and adrenaline inducing, but there’s no need to push you luck, especially if you are a spectator. This is not the first time Baja spectators are toying with their lives and we haven’t seen such oblivious and ignorant behaviors from sports fans since the good all days of Group B rally racing.
