Given Michael Schumacher’s current state and uncertain chances of a full recovery, it might be the last mechanical system that he adds his input to. It’s the Audemars Piguet mechanical watch (only 221 will be made) that can be yours for $229,500.

Schumacher is known to be an ambassador for the brand, and apparently he specifically requested that the Royal Oak Concept Laptimer come with the ability to time not one, but two separate laps / events at the same time.

This apparently is called a split second chronograph and while it sounds cool it actually has the downside of having to start one timer in order to start the other, never separately.

It’s been in the works since 2010 (the year Schumacher made his contribution to the project).

Costing as much as it does, you can imagine that a watch such as this is made out of exquisite materials and is expertly assembled. It’s got a “forged carbon” shell, titanium and features pink gold as well as black ceramic material in its construction. A total of 413 parts are required to assemble it.
