Ferrari is apparently planning to release an exclusive version of its current Berlinetta, which will come to be known as F12 GTO. It’s apparently borrowing design cues from the iconic 250 GTO and packing up to 800 PS.
The images you see below come courtesy of AutoGespot and they are supposed supposed screenshots from a private configurator available only to buyers. The car will debut in the next few months, possibly at the Frankfurt motor show in September.
It’s been suggested the F12 GTO will get its extra power via the same HY-KERS system previewed on the 599GTB HY-KERS Hybrid Concept. In essence, it will be the first trickling down of hybrid tech into cars lower in the range than the LaFerrari.
Make no mistake, this new GTO will be as exclusive as the LaFerrari, as it’s a special model built to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the fabled classic.
Thanks to Rafael for the tip!
