Yes, it’s another special edition BMW for Japan that comes only five days (!) after the previous one that was based on the 5-Series.
This one is the 640i Coupe M Performance Edition and it will be limited to only 10 units in Japan priced at 10,979,000 Yen (about US$88,300 or €78,600) a pop. The “M Performance” aspect is restricted to the appearance of the car as the 3.0-liter turbocharged straight-six with 320PS or 316hp paired to a standard 8sp automatic remains intact.
BMW starts off with the M Sport package that gives the 640i specific front and rear bumpers, side skirts and dark chrome finish pipes on the outside, together with a three-spoke steering wheel with paddle shifters, dark headliner, sport seats and door sill plates inside.
It then adds M Performance carbon fiber and Gray Poplar wood trims, Dakota leather and M Performance pedals to the cabin, and M Performance black kidney grilles, carbon fiber mirror caps, and special 20-inch ‘Liquid Black’ wheels in 245/35 tires front and 275/30 rear on the outside.
Additional extras include the Plus Package with soft-close doors, Comfort Access and Ambient Lights, a glass sunroof and full LED headlamps.
