If you’re a fan of small city cars, then you probably wouldn’t mind owning this so called Lotus Ethos, would you?
What you’re looking at here is a sporty little spawn courtesy of the Lotus City Car concept from a few years ago, and the modern-day Proton Iriz.
Actually, it’s mostly the Proton with a couple of Lotus elements such as the front spoiler, grille, headlights, hood, badges, rear spoiler and taillights. OK, so maybe more than just a couple. But it’s a cute little thing, just look at that central exhaust!
Back in 2010, Proton and Lotus wanted to jointly develop a global city car, but as Proton found themselves under new ownership, that particular project was put on hold. After that, Proton went on to build the Iriz, which isn’t bad looking at all, and Lotus went on to do the exact opposite of building a city car. They also went on to stick Pharrell Williams’ name on the side of their F1 car, but that’s a completely different issue.
Now back to this rendering – it looks aggressive enough to be a hot hatch (though quite a small one), while the fact that it says Lotus on it somehow makes it pretty darn cool.
