Mercedes-Benz is prepping the SL for a mid-cycle facelift that promises to give the hardtop roadster a much better-looking snout inspired by the AMG GT.
Our scoop photos indicate that the entire front end from the windshield to the nose will receive a makeover giving the SL a rounder and more modern appearance with almond-shaped headlamps and a more oval center grille together with a new hood, fenders and bumper.
At the back, changes seem to be limited to the re-profiled bumper and exhaust tips, but it’s highly likely that Mercedes will update the tail lamp graphics by the time the car reaches production.
For the first time, our spy shooters caught a clear look at a prototype’s uncovered interior revealing a new steering wheel design, a slightly larger screen for the updated infotainment system, and revised buttons on the center console.
The refreshed SL is expected to arrive next year.
