The same pair of 2016 Fiat 500 prototypes that we spied parked in an underground garage last week were now spotted out in the open.

While the facelifted 500 hatch and Cabrio testers are keeping their secrets under cover, a leaked document that surfaced online a few days ago gave us a heads up on most of the changes – including what to expect from the exterior makeover.

These include re-profiled bumpers, a new set of headlights with LED technology that are described in the sheet as being similar to those used on the larger 500X crossover, redesigned tail lamp clusters with LEDs, plus fresh wheels and colours.

In the cabin, we’re told that Fiat will revise the dashboard and steering wheel designs, introduce new chrome trimmings and upholstery, while also adding FCA’s U-connect infotainment system (we hear from other sources that it may come with a new touchscreen) and possibly other newer features.

The updated 500 is said to be presented this week on June 10, before launching in Europe next month.
