Maybe the driver of this Audi SQ7 development prototype forgot he was in a SUV and pushed too hard, or maybe the SQ7 isn’t there yet in terms of chassis tuning.

Either way, the result is the big SUV got smashed against the guard rails pretty badly.

Following the crash, which happened in the notorious Karussell corner, the test driver slowed down (probably to assess the damage) and then continued driving at slow pace towards the garage. As a reminder, the upcoming Audi SQ7 will be the flagship model of the Q7 family and may feature both high-power diesel and petrol engines.

I find it pretty ridiculous automakers are testing SUVs on the Nürburgring, don’t you? I mean, will a single Audi SQ7 owner ever take it to a track day? Since when do seven-seat SUVs need razor-sharp handling? Well, I guess the Nürburgring Nordschleife gave a straightforward answer to all these questions.
