After the all-new Astra “went public” last week, we had renderings popping up left and right with not just the Sedan version, but also the GTC, Sports Tourer and the OPC.
As far as we could tell, the Corsa OPC-inspired Astra OPC rendering wasn’t as aggressive as it could have been, while the GTC and Sports Tourer digital drawings looked pretty good. By the way, you can check both of them out here.
It was however the Sedan version that sparked controversy with the designer keeping the floating C-pillar. You guys were spot on in pointing out how much it resembled the Nissan Lania and also to say that the C-pillar made its rear appear to be too massive.
Now we have another rendering of the all-new Astra Sedan, which looks a lot more production-ready, don’t you think?
Gone is the floating C-pillar as well as the hatchback-like rear end, plus we also get to see a picture of the rear – which kind of looks a lot like the Astra J’s rear.
There are differences obviously, such as the more dynamic rear spoiler, and the more modern-looking taillights, but if we’re being honest, this looks a lot more like an intricate facelift than a brand new model if we look at it from behind.
Still, if we were to bet on it, we’d say that when the actual all-new Astra Sedan comes out, it will look a lot more like this particular rendering, than the first one we saw.
