You never really know where and when you’ll cross paths with a prototype; this time, one of our shooters snapped Fiat’s facelifted 500 hatchback and Cabrio resting in an underground garage.
The two testers were…obsessively covered in camouflage from top to bottom and inside and out to hide their cosmetic tweaks from prying eyes.
The only visible changes are the tail lamps (though, we can’t say for sure if they’re production or test components) and the updated rear bumper that gains reflectors on the lower edge. We do expect the front end of the Italian city car to gain a makeover with a different grille, a tweaked bumper and possibly, LED lighting fixtures.
Like we said, the interior was also covered up, a sign that Fiat is working on implementing a facelift to the dashboard, which could include a new infotainment system with a large screen on the center console.
Fiat will likely continue to offer the 500 with the same range of engines, possibly tweaked to improve their performance and efficiency.
