GM is prepping a nip-and-tuck for its successful Buick Encore and consequently, the small SUV’s European sibling, the Opel and Vauxhall-branded Mokka.
The prototype seen testing in Europe was the Buick Encore, but since there are no cosmetic differences other than their front grille pieces, all changes beyond what lies under the hood for each market will be common.
While the front end is heavily draped, we can still make out the reshaped waterfall grille and re-profiled bumper that may get new (LED?) light fixtures. There are no other visible changes to the body, but since it’s an early prototype means that, by the time it reaches production, GM could make some minor tweaks to the rear end with revamped tail lamp and bumper designs.
There are rumors that the European Mokka will get the latest Corsa’s new 1.0-liter Ecotec direct injection turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine that’s currently available in two outputs at 89hp (90PS) and 113hp (115PS) paired to a new six-speed manual.
Some interior updates, including to the infotainment system, are to be expected as well.
