Participants in the Final Qualification Round of GT Academy 2015 (Round 4) can obtain the Nissan GT-R LM Nismo for free by completing a lap, regardless of the lap time, in the Gran Turismo 6 video game.
In order to enter Round 4, participants must complete the previous 3 rounds achieving at least a Bronze Award or better. Users can start from Round 1 at any time while the GT Academy 2015 event is open.
It should be quite an interesting experience driving the GT-R LM Nismo Le Mans racer, which features a front-engine, front-wheel-drive layout, a concept previously unheard of in prototype race cars.
But it’s not the first time Nissan enters the Le Mans 24 Hours with an atypical car. Remember the DeltaWing and ZEOD RC race cars? Both were created by Ben Bowlby, who is also the mastermind behind the GT-R LM Nismo.
Bowlby claims that mounting the engine in the front opened up new design possibilities to maximize aerodynamics, thus making the car more efficient at higher speeds.
Those of you who are participating in the GT Academy 2015 will probably feel that when driving the GT-R LM Nismo in GT6. And if you’re good enough, maybe one day you’ll drive a real Nissan race car on a real circuit, like GT Academy graduates Lucas Ordóñez and Jann Mardenborough will at this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans.
