Fresh on the heels of Chevy’s facelifted 2016 Silverado, GMC has presented the updated version of their related 2016 Sierra pickup truck.
All 2016 Sierras get a makeover on the front with a larger six-point grille featuring bespoke trimmings for each trim level and new LED “C-shaped” signature daytime running lights, headlights and fog lamps, plus redesigned bumpers on both ends, and new “C-shaped” LED taillights.
GMC has also added support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity allowing customers to use select smartphone apps through the touchscreen interface of the IntelliLink system.
Like the 2016 Chevy Silverado, it’s expected that GMC will expand the availability of GM’s eight-speed automatic transmission across the range while also adding new safety technologies.
GMC said that sales of the 2016 Sierra will kick off in the fourth quarter of the year, with additional information to be released in the “coming months”.
