A lot of time has passed since we last looked at a car destruction-oriented game called Next Car Game. Since then, its name has been changed toWreckfest.
The developers have added more tracks, more cars and have also fine-tuned the physics engine. They’ve also added future functionality for extensive ways to customize your car, which are both visual and performance-oriented.
The most recent major update seriously changed the damage model. While before cars felt a little bit too flimsy and bent out of shape far too easily, now they seem to have a bit more rigidity to their structure, so bending opponents’ vehicle does carry more satisfaction.
Developer Bugbear is refusing to announce a release date, probably because they don’t really know when it’s going to be done.
That means there’s still room to change things around; a project like this benefits greatly from direct contact with the early beta-playing community so as to factor in real players’ wishes while the game is still in development and not through patches, DLCs or updates.
