Not so long ago, 300 ponies under the hood of a compact sedan would have made everyone go ‘Woo-Hoo!’, but nowadays, it doesn’t exactly get your blood pumping.
Truth is, it probably should, as we sincerely doubt that every driver uses up all that power and speed, but for those who want an extra kick out of Audi’s new S3 sedan, ABT Sportsline has developed two performance kits that should do the trick.
In factory trim, the European-spec* S3 Sedan’s 2.0-liter turbocharged four pumps out 300PS (296hp) and 300Nm (280 lb-ft).
With the base ABT Power package, those numbers jump to 370PS (365hp) and 460Nm (339 lb-ft) respectively, while if you really want to heat things up, there’s the ABT Power S kit that gives the S3 400PS (395hp) and 480Nm (354 lb-ft) – that’s more than the RS3 Sportback’s (not offered in the States) 367PS (362hp) and 465Nm (343 lb-ft).
The boost in power and torque comes from a new ECU together with an ABT exhaust system that includes pre-pipes and sport-type catalytic converter.
The package also includes new sport sway bars for the front and rear axle, while optionally, ABT offers a different front grille, fender inserts, rear skirt set, black chrome plated exhaust tips, and 20-inch wheels.
