The Alfa Romeo 4C is a very left field proposition for those looking to buy a Porsche Cayman, but it does have its very own unique pull. It’s not as solid feeling as the Porsche, but that’s understandable and down to its extremely low weight and construction technique.

If you had any doubts about its credentials as a track and/or enthusiast option, check out the video posted below via Marchettino. He gets hold of a 4C which he gets to drive around an empty Modena track.

As with most mid-engined rear-wheel drive cars, there is a tendency to snap and spin out, which is what happens to him on the first corner. When all the systems are turned off you really have to be ready to counter steer immediately but not overdo it…

Once you get into a groove with it, small powerslides are possible out of every corner just so long as you don’t overcook it with the throttle too soon. The gearbox also sounds like a peach to use with each shift emitting a pleasant bark from the exhausts.
