Audi UK is celebrating 21 years of the A8 with a limited series model called Edition 21. Only 121 units of the generously-equipped Audi A8 Edition 21 will be available in the UK in both standard and long wheelbase formats, with pricing starting from £72,525 and £76,490, respectively.
Compared to standard Audi A8 models, the Edition 21 brings exterior and interior enhancements. Based on the SE trim level, the limited edition Audi A8 sports redesigned front and rear bumpers, pronounced side sills, standard adaptive Audi Matrix LED headlights, LED taillights and dynamic indicators.
Edition 21 models also get unique 20-inch double spoke alloy wheels with titanium-look finish, tinted windows and the Daytona grey pearl effect paint, normally only available for the Audi S8.
Things get even more serious inside, as the Edition 21 features a special interior design package from Audi exclusive, available in two color combinations: cognac brown with black contrasting stitching or black leather with red contrasting stitching.
The cabin also gets standard comfort front sports seats with memory function, 22-way adjustability and integrated pneumatic lumbar and side bolster support. Other highlights include the black cloth headlining, three-spoke multi-function steering wheel and illuminated door sill plates bearing the “Edition 21” emblem.
The only engine available for the Audi A8 Edition 21 is the 3.0-liter V6 TDI diesel rated at 262PS (258hp) and 580Nm (428lb-ft) of torque. Mated to a standard 8-speed tiptronic transmission which sends power to all four wheels via the quattro permanent all-wheel drive system, the A8 sprints from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 5.9 seconds (6.1 seconds for LWB models). Top speed for both models is 155 mph (250 km/h). First UK deliveries are expected to begin in November.
