Don’t freak out Opel fans, this Fiat 500 ‘Trekking’ is just a rendering. However, real-world applications could surface quite easily.
The thing is, when you’re driving around in small city cars, you do, in a sense (and it’s completely counter-intuitive), start to think that there’s not a place on Earth your car can’t go to (fit in).
If you live anywhere throughout Europe, you’ve probably seen your fair share of superminis parked crookedly on the sidewalks, straddling the curve plus a whole number of different…let’s say bad parking ideas.
People do tend to throw them around pretty much anywhere they can fit, which means that you’ll never know when more ground clearance will come in handy – regardless of where you live and what type of small car you drive.
The facelifted Fiat 500 doesn’t look all that different from its previous iteration, but since almost all car manufacturers are getting into crossovers and the 500 has been “Trekking” before in the form of the 500L Trekking 5-door model, it wouldn’t be inconceivable to see a more capable version of the classic two-door 500, would it?
Sure, maybe not anytime soon, but it’s possible.
In terms of looks, this rendering isn’t as elegant as the regular 500, but it’s still cute – which is really all that matters with these types of cars.
