Seat has released full details and a big photo gallery of its facelifted Alhambra MPV, VW Sharan’s twin brother.

While exterior design updates are limited to new LED taillights, new brand logo placed on a modified front grille, new colors and wheel designs, the interior gets new trim colors, steering wheel design from the Seat Leon and some redesigned control elements.

The refreshed Seat Alhambra gets a fully revised lineup of TSI and TDI Euro 6 engines that are up to 15 percent more economical. Customers can choose between three 2.0 TDI engines with 115PS, 150PS and 184PS, as well as two TSI petrol units – a 150PS 1.4-liter and a 220PS 2.0-liter.

The most economical version is the entry-level Alhambra TDI with 115PS, which averages 5 l/100 km (56.5 mpg UK or 47 mpg US), with corresponding CO2 emissions of 130 g/km. The 150PS diesel can also be ordered with the 4Drive permanent all-wheel drive system.

With the exception of the entry-level diesel, all engines can be had with the DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission (standard with the top petrol engine) which offers a fuel-saving coasting function.

The new Alhambra is equipped with a new generation of Seat Easy Connect infotainment systems, which include high-resolution touchscreen displays and newer processors for faster booting and more rapid route calculation. The Media System Plus and the navi system can be connected with Mirror Link, Google Android Auto and Apple Car Play using the Seat Full Link, enabling the operation of a large number of apps via the 6.3-inch touchscreen.

Standard safety assist systems include multi-collision brake, which initiates automatic braking to avoid a secondary collision in the event that the driver can no longer intervene following an accident. A new addition is the Blind-Spot Sensor with additional Parking Assist function.

The Seat Alhambra offers space for up to seven people on three rows of seats and offers a load volume of up to 2,430 liters (85.8 cu-ft), with the second- and third-row seats folded flat.
