If you wanted more proof that you don’t need a flagship model in order to build a very special version of whichever car you happen to own, here it is.
This is a rather common BMW 320d Touring, which thanks to a set of kick-ass Vossen VFS1 wheels and a lowered ride height, looks completely uncommon.
The VFS1 series wheels have a very clean design and they seem to work on just about any type of car, including a sporty little family estate such as the 3 Series Touring.
The fact that this 320d runs just 184 PS and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) makes this all the more sweet. Sure, this could have been a 335d or a 335i or just a really top of the line station wagon (not necessarily from BMW), such as the E63 AMG S or the Audi RS6, but you don’t need a lot of muscle in order to get good looks.
Bottom line, this car is very likable. It can’t hit 100 km/h (62 mph) quicker than 7.6 seconds, but it sure separates itself from other 3 Series Touring models that don’t sit any closer to the road and that are wearing 17″ or 18″ wheels.
Sure, the 3 Series Touring, generally speaking, is a great car and a rather good looking one. But once you go all out and invest in some extra parts for the exterior, you will almost instantly stand out in a crowd.
The white is a great choice as well by the way. As is the blacked out grille.
