For the first time ever, Infiniti has managed to sell more than 100,000 vehicles in six months, reporting 103,500 sales so far this year, marking a 13 per cent improvement over 2014.
Highest performing markets are Asia, Europe, The Middle East and Africa, although the US is obviously still the most prolific. Of the total vehicles sold, some 70,700 ended up on the American continent, mostly in the US and Canada.
The news seems to have excited the company president, Roland Krueger, who said “Infiniti has been building a lot of momentum setting numerous global sales records in the past two years. This would not be possible without the trust and support from our dealer partners and our customers. We will continue to make strong progress towards our goal of becoming an established tier one global premium brand.”
The automaker should see its total sales go up more sharply once the Q30 premium hatchback (pictured) is launched, its most affordable model to date. It’s designed to compete against the Audi A3, Mercedes A-Class and the soon-to-be front-wheel drive BMW 1-Series.
