It looks like Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) division has its hands full these days according to the latest reports.
The SVO department is developing a new line of Land Rover models which will offer better off-road capabilities, bringing back the SVX moniker which was last used on the Defender. The SVX badge will represent the toughest off-roaders of the company with the new Discovery and next Defender to be the first models to wear it, according to Car magazine.
The plan for SVO is to offer three distinct special versions across the Jaguar Land Rover range: SVR for the most sportive on-road thrills, like the recently introduced Range Rover Sport SVR or the upcoming Jaguar F-Type SVR, SVX for the macho off-roaders and SVAutobiography for the exclusive and most luxurious vehicles, like the big Range Rover.
After all, who doesn’t like a tough-looking off-roader with a Land Rover badge on it?
