With British tuning & engineering firm TDI-Tuning becoming more popular, Jaguar-driving customers have knocked on their door more frequently as of late.
In fact, 10% of the company’s tuning boxes are fitted to Jaguar cars, which are also selling a lot better in 2015 than they were in past years.
TDI-Tuning’s Graeme King said that “Long gone are the times when premium brands considered diesel derivatives the poor relation,” before adding that “Fuel economy and performance are no longer mutually exclusive, and owners still look for ways to improve both.”
We can definitely agree with that statement. People who drive fast diesel cars in general are pretty fond of all that torque, and so they begin to crave more and more power until their car goes from just being fast, to being “pretty damn fast”.
As if just to prove just that, the XF 3.0 V6 has been TDI-Tuning’s most faithful Jaguar customer. This diesel-powered saloon usually starts off with 271 bhp and 443 lb-ft (600 Nm), though thanks to a CRTD2 Twin Channel Digital Diesel Tuning Box with Boost control, those numbers go up to 341 bhp and 514 lb-ft (696 Nm) of torque.
That should make your Jaguar XF (prev-gen model) about as fast as a BMW 535d, since the V6 3.0D Jag was already good for hitting 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.4 seconds.
What that means is that strapping a power box to your old XF 3.0D, will make it faster than the all-new 300 PS XF 3.0 Diesel.
So there! One more reason why you shouldn’t trade your old XF for a new one…you know, apart from the fact that they look way too similar.
