This is really it; Lamborghini’s roadster version of the Aventador LP750-4 SuperVeloce scooped with only some light masking over the removable twin roof panels and above the rear lights.
The only other visual changes over the Aventador LP750-4 SV coupe besides the carbon fibre roof top, concern the design of the engine cover and at least on this prototype, the absence of a fixed rear wing.
The weight difference over the SV Coupe should be the same as between the regular coupe and roadster at around 50kg or 110 pounds due to additional strengthening on parts of the body including the sills and bulkhead.
Power will come from the same uprated 6.5-liter V12 producing 750PS (740hp) at 8,400rpm, a substantial increase over the regular Aventador’s 700PS (690hp), though, torque remains the same on both models at 689Nm (508 lb·ft).
The SV Roadster should also be around 50kg or 110 pounds lighter than the standard open top version mainly thanks to the use of carbon-fiber parts for the engine bay cover, body and even the interior that will be stripped out.
A seven-speed automated manual gearbox will work together with a Haldex permanent four-wheel drive system to distribute power to all four corners.
As with the coupe, the SV Roadster will get new magnetic fluid-filled adaptive dampers, carbon ceramic brakes, a new variable electromechanical steering, plus 20-inch wheels front and 21-inch rear.
Lamborghini said it will build 500 examples of the SV convertibles, 100 less than the 600 SV coupes that have been reportedly sold out worldwide.
We could see the production version of the super-fast roadster as early as September at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.
