You can always count on eBay to provide the most bizarre and crazy automotive creations.
Take this Nissan Maxima, for instance. As you can clearly see, the automobile comes with suicide doors and without a roof – “options” that were never offered on the stock variant.
Truth be told, it looks like a very poor internet rendering, but the car isn’t all that bad. I mean, it could’ve been worse and it looks decently converted. Sure, it’s an answer to a question nobody asked, but that’s what makes it more interesting. Why was it built?
Oh well, at least it comes with a heap-load of optional extras and it seems a fun way to go on a cruise with your friends. Its price, on the other hand, is way too serious. The bidding stopped at $10,100 and, at that value, it still didn’t met the reserve. It may look like a fun car, but with such a price tag nobody is cheering and laughing.
In fact, at $10,000 it becomes a chopped, grotesque-looking conversion and that just spoils everything. Sure, it’s the only one in existence, as the seller described it, but if the Maxima had the credentials to be a good… whatever this is, maybe there were a lot more of them on the streets. We doubt it even has a custom-built soft-top.
Its 3.5-litre, 265 Hp V6 comes equipped with a cold-air intake and it only has 17,000 miles from new and. Moreover, it comes with a welded reinforcing unit from the firewall to the rear seats, in order to keep the whole rig stiff – since it’s missing the roof. The car is lowered 2 inches from the standard model and has a stainless steel exhaust and drilled brake rotors.
