Jaguar says this F-Pace is a prototype, but you can call it a pre-production model. It will make its first public appearance at this Saturday’s Tour de France as the official Team Sky support vehicle.
There are still some bits of camouflage here and there, but these pictures provide us with the best look we’ve had to date of the production version of the British firm’s first-ever SUV that will go up against an increasingly crowded segment with rivals such as BMW‘s X4 and Porsche’s Macan.
The good news is that the F-Pace’s exterior remains faithful to the well-received 2013 Jaguar C-X17 concept with only some minor changes taking place on the bumpers and secondary elements like the mirrors.
Much of what you don’t see is shared with the XE sedan, including Jaguar Land Rover’s Aluminum Intensive Architecture and the Ingenium 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol and diesel four-pots, plus a 3.0-liter supercharged V6.
While Jaguar hasn’t set a debut date yet, we should see the F-Pace making its world premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, before heading to dealerships early next year.
