It seems that, while the initial reaction to a sequel for Project Cars may not have been pretty, money is still pouring in for Slightly Mad Studios. They’ve actually raised around $500,000 of their total $11 million goal.
I`m not going to go into detail about why funding a game like this can have negative consequences (i.e. unfinished, unpolished games being launched prematurely pissing pre-paying players off), but the state of the first game at launch should have made players a tad more shy about waving their cash.
A new DLC for Project Cars 1 was released earlier this month, called “Racing Icons Pack” featuring the ’90s classic racers like the Mercedes CLK GTR.
The developer says “Project CARS will continue to see massive updates, features, and content throughout 2015 & beyond. Project CARS 2 will happen simultaneously,” so it seems that they too read the comments aimed at their original announcement.
We’ll have to see how it pans out for them.
