This Project Kahn Defender 7-seater is the cool way to do school runs.
I mean, what’s your excuse for choosing a Volvo XC90 over this? It has 7 custom leather seats, it looks comfortable in the interior and it looks bad-ass overall. And in what other circumstance would you use the last row of seats, except carrying your kids and their mates to school every now and then?
This school run SUV, which happens to be equipped with mud-flaps and 16 inch alloys wrapped in meaty tires, features a two inch suspension lift, upgraded gas shocks and steering dampers which makes the whole rig a little more comfortable. And if you happen to worry about your child’s safety, you might consider the fact it’s a Defender and it’s stronger than a mountain.
Seriously now, the project has been constructed using a Defender 2.2TDCI XS 110 as a base, so its diesel engine is quite economical for something that looks inspired by an army vehicle.
In fact, the car has a military front grill with a stainless steel mesh insert, military headlights and a sump guard for when you need to crush other vehicles in order to make way to get to school on time. As an added bonus, the style cues are simple and cool and you won’t frighten the kids – unlike other Project Kahn/Chelsea Trucks products.
The interior is garnished in quilted and perforated leather and even the roof grabs and the rear passenger knee protectors are in Harris Tweed.
It sounds better than a minivan already.
