If you enjoy building robots out of blocks, piling on weapons and fighting other robots for their parts, then you will enjoy playing TerraTech. The game is not yet complete, but even in this early access phase it’s still worth a look.
At its core, it’s like any survival-genre game – you are spawned on a map with resources and enemies and you need to collect resources to survive. The only twist here is that you can use the parts you get from the bots you defeat on your own rig and change it on the fly.
Now, more than one year after being revealed, it looks like development is still going strong. For instance, they added a day/night cycle as part of the July 6 update, which sounds like a big deal, as well as increasingly diverse enemy types.
The game is available on Steam, but they don’t say when it’s actually going to be finished.
