The brilliance of Porsche’s 911 GT3 can be found in many things but one of the most crucial is the ability to punch way above its weight. Enter Ferrari’s last naturally aspirated V8 screamer, the 458 Speciale.

Chris Harris helps Tiff Needell to find-out which one is the quickest around the track, with the first one in the Porsche and the always-smiling hoonigan in the yellow Italian.

On paper this looks like an unfair battle for the Porsche since the 911 GT3 makes ‘just’ 469hp from its 9k-revving 3.8-litre flat six engine, with the Ferrari offering almost 600 ponies from the last naturally aspirated V8 masterpiece the world will ever see.

Of course the difference is portrayed perfectly when you take a look at their respective sticker prices, with the Ferrari costing almost £100k more than the Porsche in the UK market, but that raises the question: Is the Ferrari £100k better than the 911 GT3? What would have happen if they used the 911 GT3 RS?

Finding the answer might prove a bit easier after watching the video linked below.
